Abstract

Sediments were collected in Fall 2019 across three transects in the Santa Barbara Basin using the ROV Jason during R/V Atlantis cruise AT42-19. This dataset consists of the sediment parameters porosity and density.

Sediments were collected with push cores (6 cm inner diameter) along three depth transects across the Santa Barbara Basin using the ROV Jason.

Sediment porosity was determined by drying sediments at 75°C for five days and calculated using the difference between wet and dry weights, divided by the volume of sediment.

Sediment density was determined by weighing a defined volume of wet sediment and dividing the weight by volume.
