Two common reef-building corals, Montipora capitata and Pocillopora acuta, were collected from six sites in Kāne'ohe Bay, O'ahu, Hawai'i. Experiment conducted at the Hawai'i Institute of Marine Biology.
Survivorship was tracked daily throughout the two-month stress and two-month recovery period using a binary score for dead versus alive. Alive was defined as any fragment with live tissue.
