Pseudo-nitzschia fraudulenta was isolated from public nearshore water collected at 34.08 N, 119.05 W in Ventura County, California in March, 2010 for the project "Changing Phytoplankton Trace Metal Requirements in a High CO2 Ocean" (PI: Feixue Fu, USC).
